Winter’s Hill Vineyard 2012 Pinot Blanc, Dundee Hills, $17

Under-appreciated and sometimes subdued, this Burgundy variety shines in the hands of French-born winemaker Delphine Gladhart, who married into this farming family. These estate berries were taken at 21.9 brix on Oct. 8, helping to make for inviting tropical aromas, honeydew melon, honeycomb, lime spritz and mint. The stainless-steel approach showcases the fresh and bright flavors of lime juice and orange zest, backed with touch of vanilla ice cream. This wine is no doubt an easy sell for her husband, Russell, who handles marketing at the winery.
