One of Washington’s largest plantings, this wine was crushed by Charlie Hoppes and nurtured by Kendall Mix, and they combined to produce a masterful example of this Bordeaux variety. It spent 22 months in 40% new oak, which, combined with the bottle age, gives this beautiful dark fruit aromas of plum, Marionberry and blueberry with notes of cola, allspice and black pepper. There’s a match on the palate with juiciness, marvelously managed tannins and a lengthy finish of dark chocolate and blackberry. It received a gold medal at the 2015 Seattle Wine and Food Experience Wine Competition.
