Walla Walla vintner Mary Tuuri Derby relies on Colin Morrell’s Lonesome Spring Ranch in the Yakima Valley near Benton City, Wash., for her red Rhone blend of Greanche (45%), Syrah (40%) and Mourvèdre. There’s ample influence of oak behind aromas of blackberry jam, black current and Cascade mint tea. It’s an easy and juicy drink with a light to medium structure amid flavors of Marionberry and more black currant. This wine earned a silver medal at the 2015 Seattle Wine and Food Experience Wine Awards.
