The Algers’ Chicken Dinner White ranks as one of the most popular wines in Idaho, and it’s Riesling that drives the blend year after year. Last year’s vintage of the noble grape of Germany shines on its own here, polished to dryness at 0.5% residual sugar. And yet there’s fascinating tropical aromas of lychee with a backing of Uncola, peach, orange blossom, spearmint and a faint whiff of petrol. Its flavors are deliciously linear with white peach, gooseberry and more mint. In the background, there’s honeydew melon and slate for more complexity. Enjoy with Lemongrass and Rosemary Chicken, Shrimp & Papaya Salad or Spicy Asian Pork Tacos.
