Best Buy! Lewis-Clark Valley firebrand Coco Umiker produces only one white wine that’s even slightly off-dry — this friendly and aromatic blend from the 2014 and 2015 vintages off two sites within newly established American Viticultural Area – Arnett Vineyard in Clarkston, Wash., and the Clearwater Canyon Cellars’ estate planting in Lewiston, Idaho. Her collection of Pinot Gris (40%), Muscat Ottonel (16%), Chardonnay (16%), Muscat Canelli (12%), Viognier (10%), Orange Muscat (5%) and Riesling (1%) opens with aromas of Ambrosia Salad and lychee with rosewater, lime, mint and cinnamon oil. There’s a layering of fruit flavors from kiwi and honeydew melon and orange to slate and lime juice with an enjoyable food-friendly mouth feel that picks up a bit more cinnamon oil as citrus pith easily balances the 1% residual sugar.
