Northwest Women Stars of Food and Wine

SEATTLE — Seattle Uncorked celebrates the third Northwest Women Stars of Food & Wine on Sunday, Feb. 11 for a unique event staged 76 stories above Seattle at the newly redesigned Columbia Tower Club.

This reception style event is the Sunday after the Super Bowl and features some of the best women chefs, winemakers, and sommeliers in the Northwest and is a fundraiser for the Women’s Funding Alliance.

A ticket costs $50, and the event will feature stations of women winemakers and chefs paired together.

Winemakers include Pamela Adkins of Adrice Wines, Nina Buty of Buty Winery, Lisa Callan of Callan Cellars, Casey Cobble of Robert Ramsay Cellars, Leala Cramer of Marcus Sophia Winery, Mary Derby of DAMA Wines, Marie-Eve Gilla of Forgeron Cellars, Deborah Hansen of Cougar Crest Estate Winery, Angela Jacobs of WineGirl Wines, Kasia Kim of Kasia Winery, Amy Lee of Rocky Point Cellars, Kristie Lodmell of Lodmell Cellars, Leigh McMillan and Kristen Dorrity of Welcome Road Winery, Jessica Munnell of Wautoma Wines, Lisa Packer of Warr-King Wines, Kerry Shiels of Côte Bonneville, Hillary Sjolund of Sonoris Wines, Lisa Swei of Three of Cups Winery, Rebecca Weber and Jody Elsom of Elsom Cellars, Mari Womack of Damsel Cellars and Tonya Woodley of SuLei Cellars.

Sommeliers include Hayley Black of The Rainier Club, Amberleigh Brownson of Restaurant Success, Cara De Lavallade of Willows Lodge, Janice Dean of Purple Cafe and Wine Bar, Van Doren of Vancouver, Shelly Fitzgerald of Columbia Winery, Angela Lopez of Cascina Spinasse & Artusi, Mackenzie Parks of The Wine Trust, Katelyn Peil of the Heavy Restaurant Group and Mary Silva of the Columbia Tower Club.

Tosh Remchuk said she created the event to put wine and food enthusiasts face-to-face with many of the best and brightest women chefs, sommeliers and winemakers in Washington. There will be stations where chefs serve small bites paired with a specific vintner and her wines. Meanwhile, sommeliers will bring wines from their cellar, walk the floor and pour them for patrons, who will be asked to guess if the wine is Old World or New World as well as describe the wine’s aromas and flavors.

The Women’s Funding Alliance was founded more than 30 years ago with a goal of build leadership, drive community investments and accelerate systemic change to improve the lives of women and girls in Washington state.
