Paradisos del Sol Winery: So, another Spring Barrel Tasting for the Man in the Wild Pants! Have almost lost count how many of these I have done, somewhere in the thirties. A traditional time for “the experts” to put their noses to the bung holes and then put their heads together and confer, confab, debate, and discuss. We use it as a time to give you a small glimpse into this process, and to teach you a tiny bit about the process of elevating grapes into wine. This years lesson? Riesling as a dry, barrel fermented wine, compared to a more common tank fermented slightly sweet wine. Yes, Riesling, like any grape can be nurtured into either dry or sweet wine. Come, I’ll explain. We will be presenting our wines with our usual multi-course, micro-mini, Liliputian winemaker’s dinner. Tiny bites to go with tiny sips of wine, sip, sip, bite, sip.
We know it is hard to choose which wineries to visit, we hope you come to visit us. Don’t expect a party, we are here to educate (the original reason behind Spring Barrel Tasting), but we believe it can be done with fun. Our $5 tasting fee is applied towards a purchase of at least $20. Passport holders receive 10% off your purchase of 2 or more bottles; 30% off bottles and 50% off case purchase on selected wines. We have three different wines that are under $100 a case. Come Taste Paradise! www.paradisosdelsol.com
