Canoe Ridge Vineyard 2009 Vineyard Select Merlot, Columbia Valley, $22
By Great Northwest Wine on March 10, 2013
Bright acidity is the hallmark of many red wines from this abbreviated vintage, and this is no exception. Aromas open with blueberry and caramel, backed by truffle earthiness, slate and leather. Marionberry and boysenberry flavors spill across the palate with juiciness, and that pleasant mouthfeel takes in plum skins, coffee and more leather.
