Cathedral Ridge 2010 Bangsund Vineyard Pinot Noir, Columbia Valley, $32
By Great Northwest Wine on March 20, 2013
It is often easy to forget that the Columbia Valley stretches across the mighty river into Oregon. This 15-acre vineyard 20 miles east of The Dalles, Ore., is so diverse, it provides microclimates capable of growing grapes normally found in the Rhine Valley, the Rhône Valley, Bordeaux and Burgundy. Winemaker Michael Sebastiani crafted this delicious Pinot Noir from John Bangsund’s grapes to put together a wine that offers aromas of raspberry, cedar and ripe plum, as well as rich flavors of Belgian chocolate, Marionberry and minerality.
