washington wineBest Buy! Apex is a longtime Yakima Valley winery now owned by Precept Wine in Seattle. This is a magnificent wine for both quality and price. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%), Malbec and Syrah using grapes from acclaimed Alder Ridge, Clifton Hill and Riverbend vineyards. It opens with aromas of cordial cherry, marshmallow and lavender, followed by vibrant flavors of boysenberry, cardamom, red cherry and cranberry. Its smooth tannins are elegant and approachable. At this price, you can enjoy it with a midweek meal of pizza, pasta in a red sauce or grilled meats.
