Youngberg Hill Vineyards 2009 Estate Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, $25
By Great Northwest Wine on March 27, 2013
One of Oregon’s most consistent producers of Pinot Noir comes through again. This assemblage of Pommard and Wadenswil clones planted in 1986 creates aromas of cherry pie, strawberry Mike & Ike candy, Granny Smith apple, pencil shavings and coffee. The drink is tasty with continued cherry pie flavors, cranberry juice, Dr Pepper and blood orange acidity. Diminished tannins make this ideal foil for salmon and chicken.
Rating: Excellent
Production: 412 cases
Alcohol: 13.9%
