Delfino Vineyards 2010 Zinfandel, Umpqua Valley, $35
By Great Northwest Wine on March 30, 2013
The Delfinos grow the grapes near Roseburg, Ore., and hired gun Linda Donovan builds their wines. And this is certainly not your typical overripe, high-octane Zin. Those nose features fresh Red Vines, dark Muscovado sugar and Western red cedar. Flavors are reminiscent of biting into a Rainier cherry, backed by red currants, blood orange and medium tannins.
