Sun River Vintners 2007 Red Wine, Yakima Valley, $22
By Great Northwest Wine on March 31, 2013
This big, bold and often assertive red wine is a blend of Syrah (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (33%) and Merlot, using grapes from Snipes, Smasne and Crawford vineyards in the Yakima Valley. It opens with aromas of brown sugar, pomegranate and Rainier cherry, followed by beautifully balanced flavors of boysenberry, dried cherry and blueberry. Mint notes mingle with mouthwatering acidity, and the tannins expertly back up all the fruit.
