Angel Vine 2010 The Hellion, Columbia Valley, $22
By Great Northwest Wine on April 2, 2013
Owner/winemaker Ed Fus crafts his wines in Carlton, the wine capital of Oregon, but he gets most of his grapes from the Washington side of the Columbia. This red blend includes Primitivo, Petite Sirah and Zinfandel from Coyote Canyon (Horse Heaven Hills) and StoneTree (Wahluke Slope) vineyards. It opens with aromas of spices, black pepper and strawberry-rhubarb jam. On the palate, if shows off dark fruit flavors, including plum, black cherry and raspberry. It’s an intense red.
