ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Maryhill Winery in Goldendale, Wash., won five gold medals – two of them unanimous double golds – at the annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition.
The winery in the Columbia Gorge won double golds for its Elephant Mountain Indira red blend and Reserve Zinfandel. Maryhill also won 15 silver medals and four bronzes.
Cassini Cellars in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley won two double gold medals for its Maximus red blends.
Also winning double golds were Skylite Cellars in Walla Walla, Westport Winery in Aberdeen, Wash., and Wind Rose Cellars in Sequim, Wash.
Westport won for Rapture of the Deep, its sparkling cranberry wine that also won best fruit wine at the Great Northwest Wine Competition.
Gamache Vintners in Prosser, Wash., won two gold medals, as did Washington Hills.
The Finger Lakes International Wine Competition benefits Camp Good Days and Special Times, a camp on Keuka Lake for children and families whose lives have been affected by cancer.
