Longtime Washington winemaker Brent Charnley brought in grapes from highly acclaimed Elephant Mountain in the Rattlesnake Hills area of the Yakima Valley. The resulting wine is one of the best Washington Sangioveses we have tasted in recent times. It opens with aromas of cherry jam, boysenberry, cinnamon and milk chocolate. On the palate, it is loaded with bright flavors of pomegranate, cordial cherry and just a hint of oak on the finish. Smooth tannins and lip-smacking acidity make this a perfect pairing with marinara-based dishes or lean grilled meats.
