Youngberg Hill Vineyards 2008 Jordan Pinot Noir, McMinnville, $40
By Great Northwest Wine on April 24, 2013
The vines for this delicious Pinot Noir were planted in 1989. Youngberg Hill’s Jordan Block is a 4-acre area on a steep slope that is planted to Pommard and Wadenswil clones of Pinot Noir, making this a more classic version of Oregon Pinot Noir. It opens with aromas of boysenberry, dried cherry and lavender, followed by an elegant entry of vanilla, spice, blueberry and Saskatoon berry. A hint of orange zest adds to the complexity and elegance.
