Owner/winemaker Robert Smasne’s latest creation is this Southern Rhône-style red from Snipes Mountain – and it is simply stunning. It’s a blend of Grenache (52%), Mourvédre (26%), Syrah (19%) and a touch of Viognier. It opens with aromas of brown sugar, cocoa powder, fresh plum and sage. On the palate, it reveals flavors of Marionberry, boysenberry, vanilla bean and black cherry. It’s an inviting wine with great acidity and mild, approachable tannins.
