Boomtown 2010 Syrah, Washington, $16
By Great Northwest Wine on May 18, 2013
Boomtown is a value label for the boys at Dusted Valley Vintners in Walla Walla and Woodinville, Wash., and the wines are widely available throughout the Pacific Northwest. This yummy Syrah opens with aromas of Ovaltine powder, black pepper, oak spice and blackberry, followed by rich flavors of blueberry taffy, chocolate-covered espresso beans and ripe plum, all backed with fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. This is perfectly priced for summer outdoor dining.
