Maryhill Winery 2010 Hattrup Farms Marvell GSM, Rattlesnake Hills, $32
By Great Northwest Wine on May 26, 2013
Joe Hattrup is one of the premier grape growers in the Rattlesnake Hills area of the Yakima Valley, and it shows in this Rhône-style blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvédrè. It opens with aromas of cinnamon bear candy, President plum, milk chocolate and black pepper, followed by flavors of ripe plum, Bing cherry, boysenberry and maple syrup. The Syrah shows up on the rich midpalate, and there’s some nice tannin grip on the lengthy finish.
