Array Cellars, 2010 Chardonnay, Columbia Valley, $25
By Great Northwest Wine on June 20, 2013
This new house in Woodinville is staking its reputation on Chardonnay and has hired one of Washington’s most renowned winemakers, Brian Carter. It’s proven to be a winning combination with this first vintage. Sources such as Connor Lee, Dionysus and Stillwater Creek lay the foundation for this sleek Chardonnay with a clean approach with lychee, starfruit, white pineapple and minerality. Melon and a hint of toasty oak add to the flavors, and the finish of pear and Granny Smith apple offers abundant acidity. And to make this an even better story, Array Cellars donates $1 per bottle sold to women’s shelters in the Puget Sound.
