Two radically different sites — StoneTree on the Wahluke Slope and the estate Stoney Vine in the cobblestones of Milton-Freewater, Ore. — make for Rhône-style blend of Grenache (58%), Syrah (21%), Petite Sirah (17%) and Mourvèdre with all the extraction, hedonism and acidity we always expect from the Stained Tooth honchos. The nose carries whiffs of blackberry, Marionberry, plum fruit leather, cherry juice and ginger powder. On the pour, there’s a boysenberry candy entry backed by more cherry juice. Fine-grained tannins provide a mouthwatering finish of thin chalkiness that make for a smooth and easy drink. Look for this in wine shops because their society adores every release of these wines.
