DiStefano Winery 2012 Sauvignon Blanc, Columbia Valley, $19
By Great Northwest Wine on August 3, 2013
Owner/winemaker Mark Newton has been producing wine in Woodinville, Wash., for nearly as long as anyone. He blended a touch of Semillon with this Sauvignon Blanc to add a bit of depth. The resulting wine opens with exotic aromas of honeycomb, lime, lemon chiffon and cardamom. On the palate, it offers rich flavors of apple, lime and minerality. Enjoy this white with seared scallops, halibut or Dungeness crab.
