Seven of Hearts 2011 Gran Moraine Vineyard Chardonnay, Yamhill-Carlton, $28
By Great Northwest Wine on August 23, 2013
Owner/winemaker Byron Dooley used grapes from Gran Moraine, a vineyard in Yamhill-Carlton that was planted in 2005. Of the 210 acres, 30 are dedicated to Chardonnay. This opens with aromas of pineapple, apricot and applesauce sprinkled with cinnamon. On the palate, it offers flavors of peach, apricot and Golden Delicious apple. Bright acidity on the finish lifts all the fruit.
