Andrew Will Winery 2010 Champoux Vineyard Sorella, Horse Heaven Hills, $70
By Great Northwest Wine on August 24, 2013
Owner/winemaker Chris Camarda uses 100% Champoux Vineyard grapes in this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (73%), Merlot (20%) and Cabernet Franc. The average age of the vines for this wine is 34 years, and Camarda has been a partner in Champoux since 1996. This opens with aromas of plum, huckleberry and dark chocolate, followed by flavors of blackberry, oak, clove and a hint of dustiness, all backed by ample structure. This wine is on the restrained side at the moment and needs some time to evolve in the bottle to show its true character.
