Baker’s dozen of Northwest Merlot

More folks in the Northwest are beginning to learn of the delicious wines produced in Moses Lake, Wash., by Kyra Baerlocher, who has been winning awards with Merlot and other varieties off the Wahluke Slope for years. This release is fans out notes of cranberry, cherry cola, leaf tobacco and light toast. There’s a smooth and easy drink with dark cherry and chocolate flavors, finished with red bell pepper and coffee. Suggested fare includes grilled chicken, pork ribs, pot roast and smoked Gouda.
