Best Buy! Reds dominate the landscape on Red Mountain, but the Williams family has been producing charming and affordable Chardonnay for three decades. The Williams make this from their Vista site near Finley and leave that fruit unoaked. Aromatics gather up pineapple, dusty pear, dried apple, jicama and fresh-cut celery. Additions of Roussanne (6%) and Viognier (3%) in 100% new French oak build complexity on the palate, which features pleasant flavors of Asian pear, white peach and Gala apple, then a dab of lemon custard in the finish.
