Harbinger Winery 2011 Two Coyote Vineyard Viognier, Rattlesnake Hills, $24
By Great Northwest Wine on October 29, 2013
Olympic Peninsula vintner Sara Gagnon draws in Viognier from the Yakima Valley and Roussanne (24%) from Mariposa Vineyard in the Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley to produce a fascinating Rhône blend with more acidity than often expects from Viognier. Hints of Bananas Foster, dried pineapple, grapefruit and green apple funnel into bright flavors of peach, apricot and Gala apple. Notes of orange zest and clove with flecks of minerality close it out.
