Martin-Scott Winery 2012 Needlerock Vineyard Pinot Grigio, Columbia Valley, $14
By Great Northwest Wine on November 3, 2013
Best Buy! This family-operated winery in the Wenatchee Valley has been producing vineyard-designate Pinot Grigio from its estate for about a decade, and this is quite approachable. It carries aromas of apricot, canned peaches, Jonagold apple and dried herbs. Tropical flavors come in an off-dry style (1.4% residual sugar), backed by notes of apple, melon and peach pie. Suggested fare includes quiche, pasta, spicy stir fry and a wedge of Cougar Gold cheese.
