Chateau Ste. Michelle 2012 Indian Wells Chardonnay, Columbia Valley, $17
By Great Northwest Wine on November 14, 2013
This tier now refers to a style, rather than the Indian Wells Vineyard per se, but most of the fruit in this bottling did come from the Wahluke Slope — home to Indian Wells. It offers a nose filled with lemon custard, Golden Delicious apple, baked pear and apple. There’s a pleasing match on the palate, which picks up round and rich buttery notes. The finish brings pleasing acidity and a pinch of lemon pepper. Try serving this with Chicken Alfredo, scallops or scampi.
