Northwest Cellars 2012 Adagio, Columbia Valley, $12
By Great Northwest Wine on November 17, 2013
Best Buy! Sauvignon Blanc blended with Chardonnay (40%) is not regularly seen in the Pacific Northwest, but this Kirkland, Wash., winery offers a tasty change of pace at an approachable price. Tropical aromas of mango, papaya, guava and pineapple spin into rich flavors or peach, pear and apple. A bit of residual sugar makes this a pleasant sipper, yet there’s balance with ample acidity and it’s finished by hints of minearlity and jasmine. Look for owner Robert Delf to be pouring in Issaquah at the Gilman Village Wine Walk on Nov. 21.
