Seven of Hearts 2012 Chateau Figareaux Rosé of Cabernet Franc, Columbia Valley, $18
By Great Northwest Wine on November 27, 2013
Last year, Carlton, Ore., winemaker Byron Dooley created two roses, one from Pinot Noir and this bone-dry pink from Rattlesnake Road Vineyard near Arlington, which was picked Oct. 1. It carries aromas of strawberry jam, Rainier cherry and vanilla, backed by vibrant notes of Montmorency cherry, dried strawberry and the savory qualities expected with Cab Franc. Enjoy this with smoked turkey, rotisserie chicken and side salads.
