Washington Hills 2012 Late Harvest Riesling, Washington, $12
By Great Northwest Wine on November 30, 2013
Best Buy! This slides into the medium-sweet region of the sweetness scale at 7% residual sugar, and while the profile is the same as the 2011 vintage, Hal Landvoigt and Precept excelled with this vintage and dramatically increased production. Inviting aromas of jasmine, peach, apple and apricot transition into a flavors of canned Bartlett pear and lychee. Ample acidity makes this a bit more quenching than many late harvest offerings.
Rating: Excellent
