The Shulls named their vineyard Tuscowallame Estate as a tribute to the owls they share this Chehalem Mountains property with. That vineyard also forms the base of this reserve-tier Pinot Noir, which receives healthy contributions from Meredith Mitchell and Shea vineyards. The assemblage makes for aromas of Marionberry, red cherry, forest floor, saddle leather and white pepper. Inside, it’s a delivery of pie cherry filling and raspberry amid a structure that features acidity over tannin. The finish of pomegranate creates pleasing length.
