Three of Ste. Michelle Wine Estates’ top grape sources, Beverly just north of the Wahluke Slope, StoneTree on the Wahluke Slope and Wautoma Springs overlooking the Wahluke Slope — come together for this annual tribute to “The Father of Washington wine.” The blend of Merlot (53%), Cabernet Sauvignon (36%) and Cabernet Franc spent 26 months in 100% new French oak, which leads to aromas of graham cracker, cinnamon powder and blackberry and Bing cherry. On the palate is a welcoming of sweet cherry and strawberry, supported by sandy tannins and a lingering cherry jam finish.
