The Alexander and Campbell families created this boutique winery in 2005 in the heart of Washington wine country. It originally was a members-only winery, and most of the wine still is sold directly to Anelare’s wine club members, but a bit also can be purchased by the general public. This fall, Kahryn and Forrest Alexander purchased property near famed Red Mountain with the goal of building a tasting room, not far from where Charlie Hoppes makes their wine. This suave Cabernet Sauvignon uses grapes from Gamache Vineyards near the town of Basin City, Wash., and it includes a bit of Petit Verdot for complexity. It opens with aromas of rose hips, sweet herbs, dusty blackberry and vanilla bean. On the palate, it reveals flavors of black cherry, black walnut and molasses. The rich dark fruit is backed with an intense and harmonious structure. It is available directly from Anelare.
