97. Walla Walla Vintners 2011 Dolcetto, Walla Walla Valley, $22
Co-owner Gordy Venneri’s Italian heritage no doubt helped lead to producing Italian-style red wines, and this is the best of the bunch from this top Walla Walla Valley winery. Winemaker William vonMetzger used grapes from famed Dwelley Vineyard to craft this Dolcetto. It launches with a hint of oak and tones of black raspberry and chocolate. On the palate, it offers a delicious mouth feel backed with flavors of cherry, chocolate and oak. It’s well balanced, dark and delicious.
Production: 191 cases
Alcohol: 14.2%
