81. Martinez & Martinez Winery 2012 May Mae Rosé, Horse Heaven Hills, $17

martinez-and-martinez-logoThe Martinez family has been growing grapes in the Horse Heaven HIlls for three decades, and this delicious rosé is made using Cabernet Sauvignon from estate and nearby Alder Ridge Vineyard fruit. It’s a beautiful wine with fantastic aromas of cranberry, pomegranate, red currant and a North African spice market. On the palate, it is delicious with flavors of fresh-picked strawberry, cherry and watermelon candy. It’s off-dry at 2.7% residual sugar, but it wears that sweetness well.
