37. La Frenz NV Tawny, Okanagan Valley, $22

la-frenz-tawnyOwner/winemaker Jeff Martin crafts some of the best fortified dessert wine in the Pacific Northwest. Martin, a native of Australia was the head winemaker at Quails’ Gate Estate Winery before launching La Frenz on the Naramata Bench north of Penticton, British Columbia. This is gorgeously balanced with aromas and flavors of classic tawny characteristics, including nuttiness, golden raisins and tremendous length.

Production: 200 cases

Alcohol: 18.5%
