smasne-cellars-logo-whiteBest Buy! Grandview, Wash., winemaker Robert Smasne does a delicious job balancing barrel, fruit and acidity with this lot of Viognier, Chardonnay and Aligoté from Newhouse family plantings. The barrel program of 100% neutral oak helps create aromas of dusty pear, almond butter on toast, lanolin and lemon oil. Inside is a pleasing mouthfeel of white orchard fruit, butterscotch and toast. Tingling acidity provides balance to the buttery midpalate.
