Yakima Valley winemaker Robert Smasne loads up this bottling with Syrah (71%) and fills in behind it with Malbec (19%) and Petit Verdot for a cherry bomb. Aromatics feature cherry-rhubarb pie, cassis and fresh-baked brownies with crushed herbs and minerality for complexity. Inside the suave entry are more cherries and currants as raspberry acidity stays ahead of the tannins and leads to a finish of pepper and cinnamon bark. Looks for these wines at his Woodinville and Kennewick tasting galleries.
