This Walla Walla brand has helped burnish the reputations for several winemakers, and while it’s annual production can top 70,000 cases, this Cab from the renowned Horse Heaven Hills site represents its reserve tier. The winemaking included only French oak barrels, with 50% of them new, which provides for inviting aromas of Rainier cherry, warm cocoa and white pepper. The payday comes between the gums where there’s a smooth entry of black cherry and chocolate with fine-grained tannins, raspberry acidity and cinnamon bark. It’s a well-balanced and pleasing Cab.
Rating: Outstanding!
