Anelare, which began as a club-only winery in Kennewick, Wash., recently created this second label in a partnership with the Yoke’s Fresh Market grocery group in Eastern Washington. This blend of Roussanne and Viognier marks the debut, and it’s loaded with hints of Columbia Valley-grown white orchard fruit such as Gala apple and dusty Asian pear. The baseline of starfruit and lemon peel gives this a bright acid profile not always associated with these white Rhône varieties, so it can be enjoyed with scallops. The wines also are available at Nectar Wine Bar in Spokane and this spring at Anelare’s new tasting room near Red Mountain.

Rating: Excellent

Production: 160 cases
