Blooms Winery 2010 Poetic, Washington, $35
By Great Northwest Wine on January 22, 2014
Whidbey Island winemakers Ken and Virginia Bloom blend Malbec, Petit Verdot and Syrah to create the latest edition of their flagship release from Langley, and they show an even hand with oak, which makes for fruit-forward aromas of black cherry, boysenberry, blackberry and violets. There’s more in store on the palate, featuring a balanced structure with cranberry, allspice, menthol and black pepper.
