Fruit from eight clones and off eight vineyards — leading with Alloro (Chehalem Mountains), Winkler (Yamhill-Carlton) and Olsen Estate (Dundee Hills) — came in from Oct. 28 through Nov. 4 and went into mostly neutral French oak barrels. That elegant treatment shows early on with aromas of black cherry, cassis, light toast and earthiness. It’s followed on the palate featuring red currants, cherries and dried strawberries, backed by pleasing acidity, some earthiness and a near absence of tannin.
