Gordon Estate 2012 Late Harvest Gewürztraminer, Columbia Valley, $40

February 25, 2014 by Great Northwest Wine Leave a Comment

gordon-estate-late-harvest-gewurztraminer-2012-bottleThe Gordon family grew these grapes in 2012 but waited until January 2013 before harvesting them — a truly late harvest. They pulled the clusters in from their vines overlooking the Snake River with the brix at 47%, and the resulting wine finished out at 28 percent residual sugar featuring aromas of honey, apricot, poached peach and white pepper. Its texture is extremely honeyed and lengthy with tasty apricot, pineapple and spices.

Rating: Excellent

Production: 76 cases

Alcohol: 11.2%
