Silver Lake Winery 2012 Chardonnay, Rattlesnake Hills, $9
By Great Northwest Wine on February 26, 2014
Best Buy! This Woodinville, Wash., winery produced a tasty and complex Chardonnay at any price. It’s quite aromatic with hints of dusty pear, pineapple, apple, lemon custard, lemongrass and whiff of oak. There’s a rich entry of pear and pineapple on the pour with a bit of creamy butterscotch on midpalate leading into a pleasing burst of acidity. This wine earned a gold medal at the 2014 Seattle Wine & Food Experience Wine Competition.
