Best Buy! The Mielke family has a historic relationship with these vines, which this Spokane winery used to produce their first wine in 1982. Last year, they picked these grapes starting Aug. 28 — a sign of the steamy Northwest summer — and the fruit spent no time in barrel. It leads to aromas of lemon curd, timothy hay, honey and candy corn. There’s a viscous entry to the palate with a burst of lemon, backed by Herbes de Provence and caramel in the finish. Suggested fare includes Asian dishes with seafood or chicken, as well as served with goat cheese.
