Arbor Crest Wine Cellars 2011 Five Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley, $18
By Great Northwest Wine on March 13, 2014
Five stalwart sites for Spokane, Wash., winemaker Kristina Mielke-van Löben Sels — Bacchus, Dionysus, Klipsun, Stillwater Creek and Wahluke Slope Vineyards — come together for a Cabernet Sauvignon that’s masterfully constructed. Classic aromas of black currant, plum, cocoa, bittersweet chocolate and earthiness transition to flavors of black cherry and more currant. There’s good richness on the midpalate with beautifully balanced tannins and acidity. This earned a gold medal at the 2014 Seattle Wine and Food Experience Wine Competition.
