Most of us are always on the lookout for a classic Cab from Washington, and here’s the latest example this historic Horse Heaven Hills family and their growing brand in Prosser. The nose is reminiscent of black cherry cheese cake along with hints of toasted graham cracker, cola, vanilla, black walnut, roasted coffee and minerality. The focus on the palate steers toward black currant and vanilla bean with fine-grained frontal tannins that keep it just off a hedonistic path. However, the remarkable extraction makes for a lengthy finish of blackberry, Earl Grey tea and lime peel.
